We’re keen re-users, upcyclers and recyclers at Intra Arts, and always looking for ways to reduce the amount of waste we produce. As crafty magpies we like to save anything that can be repurposed for creative projects, and are often gifted materials by the public when someone is no longer able to continue with their hobbies, or needs a bit of space back in their home.
We’ve collected products for Terracycle on some of their schemes targeting hard-to-recycle waste and diverting it from landfill. Waste from the vinyl signage we create is sent to Terracycle with one of their zero-waste boxes for plastic packaging. You can view all Terracycle’s recycling programmes on their website, and each scheme has a map with public drop-off locations.
Plastic butter or take-away tubs, old tea towels, newspapers and unwanted plastic storage boxes are what we need at the moment. Please bring them along if you have any that you are happy to donate. We are also collecting materials that can be used as art materials for a forthcoming Scrapstore scheme. Anything that might end up in landfill but could instead be used for creative activities.
Please contact us to arrange a time if you have a large amount to donate (see side panel). Small amounts of unwanted creative materials etc. can be dropped through our letterbox if you’re passing by when we are closed.
