What's On

Assorted Colours – fundraising music night

A colourful music event is coming soon, to fundraise for Intra Arts. The evening has been organised by Kevin Younger and takes place in the Rochester Social Club on the 30th March. Everyone is welcome and there will be free entry, with donations collected during the event.

Musicians from Medway and beyond are coming forward to play cover versions of songs with a colour in the title. Who is playing what will remain a surprise, but please follow the Facebook event page to get updates on who’s taking part, or to offer up a song yourself.

Rochester Social Club is a great little venue, tucked away next to Blue Boar Lane and very close to Rochester railway station. They could do with your support as well, and we’re hoping that you’ll love visiting this hidden members bar as much as we do.

As well as being a nod to the art at INTRA, the colours theme is inspired by the recent death of US poet and voice over artist Ken Nordine, whose eccentric word-jazz interpretations of Olive, Maroon, Puce, Lavender, Burgundy, Amber etc. were originally commissioned as radio adverts by a paint company, but became popular and were released as an album in 1966 that went on to gain a cult following.
