Our exhibition during the Electric Medway festival (19-28 August) showcases a collection of new digital illustrations in the style of steampunk, cyberpunk and neon-wave, created by an artificial intelligence bot. A glimpse of how a machine views the world.
We love being part of Medway Pride, and shining a light on the heritage of LGBTQ+ in our area – so we were delighted to take part in the Pride Fringe activities in The Old High Street Intra area in August.
It’s the return of the annual Medway Open Studios & Arts Festival (MOSAF), time to fling open our doors at INTRA and welcome you in again to have a nose around our workspaces.
At the end of October it’s time to honour lost loved ones again, with one of our favourite festivals. Decorate sugar skulls or lantern shrine jars, screen print tote bags with skull and flower designs, cut colourful papel picado hanging banners, make a skull mask or choose other creative activities in this day inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead.
May 2021 saw the first Ebb & Flow Festival, an arts event celebrating the streets surrounding our venue, and exploring the hidden stories and fascinating heritage of the area traditionally known as Chatham Intra – from which we took our name.
Our much loved Mexican Day Of The Dead themed festival for all ages returns this year on Sunday 3 November with lots of your favourite art and craft activities. Honour lost loved ones with a decorated shrine or sugar skull, print a tote bag, cut colourful papel picado hanging banners, decorate a skull mask, make jewellery, enter the drawing competition, and get your face painted…
Festival time is coming soon and for us it really kicks off in June with the annual Medway Print Festival, now in its fourth year. Exhibitions and workshops with a printmaking theme will be springing up across Rochester, Chatham and Upnor over two weeks from Friday 7th to Sunday 23rd June.

We’re holding another big Jumble Sale on Easter Sunday 21st April and if you’re having a big clear out of things that aren’t sparking joy, we want them please so that we can match them up with someone who feels differently about them.
On Sat 8th December, we’ll have a big roomful of original gift ideas for art lovers, a chance to meet the printmakers who work at INTRA, to join in on some printing fun and have a go on the famous tombola. For 20p you might win a printmaking class, or perhaps a tin of potatoes!
Xtina’s popular ‘Print Your Own…’ workshop returns to INTRA on Sun 6th May – with a Rochester Sweeps and May Day theme.
