The printmakers at INTRA have been busy carving linocuts, running the Risograph, rolling plates through the etching press, and pulling prints of all kinds in preparation for the winter Wayzgoose Print Fair, a feast of inky goodness on Saturday 9th December. You can pick up original art prints for as little as £10, and there will be cards, wrapping paper, rubber stamps, printmaking kits, textiles and more.
As well as hand printed goodies galore, there’s a chance to meet the makers who create beautiful artworks at the Medway Fine Printmakers print studio, based at INTRA. As ever, the wild and crazy 20p Wayzgoose Tombola will offer a chance to win printmaking courses, as well as equally exciting tins of potatoes, prints, xmas socks, and items of assorted quality.
You’ll be able to print your own free letterpressed Wayzgoose souvenir, and rubber stamp two unique badges or fridge magnets for £2.
Every year we take part in the Hot Bed Press 2020 Print Exchange – printing editions of 20cm x 20cm artworks and swapping them with printmakers around the country. We put at least one print of each of our works on sale at the Wayzgoose, plus lots we received in our boxes of swaps. They are priced £10-£15, so it’s a great way of picking up affordable hand printed artworks, and to raise money needed to run our studio.
The Wayzgoose Print Fair is free to get in, and the first 10 visitors through the door will get a free lucky bag. We’re open Open 10am – 5pm, at INTRA, 337-341 High Street, Rochester, Kent, ME1 1DA. Have a look at our Facebook event page for more photos.
Over the road, micro pub The Northern Seaman are having their first indoor market on the same day. Lots of second hand bargains, craft and food items are promised. Another neighbour, Chelle’s Pantry, has a great range of chilli sauces that make good gifts. Chelle has some tasty hot food as well, all of which can be spiced up to your liking.
