Jane Prangnell’s whimsical prints have gained quite a following in the years she’s been printing with us. One of our first members when we were around the corner at Coal Shed Press on Boundary Wharf, Jane has developed a distinctive style of bold black and white prints with a cartoony feel and gentle humour.
This spring we are showcasing Jane’s work at INTRA, a chance to see her work all together and appreciate how her style has developed.
Cats intently watch fish and hide in cardboard boxes, snails munch away at garden vegetables, bees buzz about, and a cheeky couple goes skinny dipping. A retro thread of her work draws inspiration from stylised cat ornaments and abstract textile designs, vintage record players and cassettes, 1960s xmas tree ornaments and beach huts. There’s also a lot of nature here, trees are depicted through the seasons, and her largest work to date is a wonderful garden allotment scene.
We hope you will come and have a look at the exhibition, and bet it’ll make you smile.
