‘Points In Between’ and ‘Fun Never Dies’

INTRA’s windows gallery with ‘Points In Between’ and ‘Fun Never Dies’ photography exhibitions

For December we have two amazing exhibitions in our windows, both selected by photographer Rikard Osterlund as part of our guest-curator programme. Both shows will be visible 24/7 from the street and lit 6am – midnight until 3 Jan 2022.

Points In Between‘ brings together a beautiful collection of David O’Mara’s artworks, and as you let your eyes explore them, multiple narratives emerge, fragmented and without context, forming a collective portrait of urban life. Using items collected from the street O’Mara combines his own photographic prints with found pieces of paper and other artefacts in collaged displays and handmade books. Displayed in a variety of portable cases, the ephemeral nature of these items and their journeys are deeply poignant.

Fun Never Dies: Photographs Of Gillingham Skate Park‘ – Rikard made his selection from over 3000 images collected by Nye Martin, to celebrate the skateboarding and BMX community at Gillingham Skatepark during its glory days in the 1980’s. The photographs and articles displayed offer a fascinating glimpse into this vibrant community, and Nye was a key player of Medway Sk8 Club who campaigned for the park to stay open. The story of the park has a sad end, but the photographs are joyful. Rikard is keen to connect with people who were part of this community, and its modern day equivalents, so please get in touch if you have a story or photo to share.
