It’s time to fling open our doors at INTRA and welcome you in again to have a nose around our workspaces, meet some of the artists working with us, and have a look at the art we’ve made. And what’s more, it’s happening across Medway!
It’s the return of the annual Medway Open Studios & Arts Festival (MOSAF), and here’s what we have lined up for you. For listings of all the artists and venues taking part, visit the MOSAF website, or pick a free handbook to the festival at INTRA.

In the East side of our windows gallery, artist and musician Darrell Hawkins shows bold, bright, contemporary paintings fusing abstract and figurative elements, in a celebratory ode to Medway.
On the West side of the gallery, Zara Carpenter‘s exhibition ‘Polaroid Portraits and Abstracts’ presents a selection of prints and originals from her Polaroid chemigram experiments including portraits and hand-painted photographs.
The windows gallery is visible from the street 24/7 and the exhibitions continue throughout July.

Fancy Tat, that’s Claire Patchett & Janet Ransley, specialise in creating new and beautiful gifts and homewares by upcycling pre-loved, unwanted and neglected objects. Their products are lovingly handmade and are often unique or limited edition due to the availability of materials. They will be demonstrating their upcycling techniques every day during our opening hours.
Intra Arts will be showing how we bring artists and communities together to collaborate on wonderfully creative projects. Recent activities Ebb & Flow Festival, We Are Medway Lantern Parade, and new large-scale textiles project The Cut Of Her Cloth, celebrating female leaders in Medway. Also on show – paintings by Wolf Howard, and glass art by Glassmania.

Medway Fine Printmakers, our resident artist-run, not-for-profit printmaking studio are showing handmade prints by studio members including screen prints, etchings, collagraphs, solar plate / photopolymer prints, monoprints, textiles and Risograph work. Printmaking demos Wednesday and both weekends, and information on the courses and open access sessions offered. Printmaker Paul Jerome has decorated the print studio with hybrid creatures that refer to the building’s history as a department store, but are more than a little strange…
Xtina Lamb has prints on paper, artists books, artworks made from sea plastic and fused plastic bags, printed textiles, illustrations and works in progress to show. Her studio is a densely packed cabinet of curiosities.
